True Nomad Trek

Duration: 4 Days & 3 Nights

Experience the true spirit of the desert on this multi-day trekking adventure through the spectacular landscapes of Wadi Rum. Walk across red sand valleys, hidden canyons, and towering sandstone mountains while exploring remote areas far from the usual tourist routes. Each night is spent wild camping beneath the clear desert sky, sharing meals and stories around the campfire in traditional Bedouin style.

Itinerary

Day 1 — Barrah Canyon to Jebel Burdah

Your adventure begins at Wadi Rum Rest House, followed by a short drive to Barrah Canyon, where the trek starts. Surrounded by towering cliffs, this quiet canyon offers a beautiful introduction to the desert landscape.

We walk through the canyon before stopping for lunch in the shade near its end. In the afternoon, the trek continues across open valleys, passing the famous Mushroom Rock formation. By evening we reach our campsite at the base of Jebel Burdah, where we enjoy dinner around the campfire and spend the night under the stars.

Overnight: Wild camping

Day 2 — Burdah Arch to Um Fruth

After breakfast, we begin the climb to Burdah Arch, one of the most impressive rock arches in Wadi Rum. The ascent includes sections of light scrambling, but the panoramic views from the top make the effort worthwhile.

After descending, we enjoy lunch at the base of the mountain before continuing the trek through scenic valleys toward Um Fruth Rock Bridge. Along the way, it is common to see camels grazing peacefully across the desert landscape.

Overnight: Wild camping

Day 3 — Um Fruth to Wadi Sabit

The trek continues through a fascinating maze of sandstone formations as we head toward Wadi Nuqra and Um Amqur. We pause for lunch in the shade at Wadi Nuqra before crossing a valley toward Wadi Sabit.

This beautiful area glows in the warm afternoon light, offering stunning views across the surrounding desert valleys. Our campsite here is a perfect place to watch the sunset before enjoying another peaceful evening around the fire.

Overnight: Wild camping

Day 4 — Wadi Sabit to Um Samin

On the final day, we walk through the striking White Desert landscapes toward Um Samin. Along the way we stop for lunch in the shade before continuing through valleys dotted with rounded sandstone formations.

At the end of the trek, a vehicle transfer returns us to Wadi Rum Rest House, arriving around 3:00 PM.

Optional Hike:
For those seeking an extra challenge, a 2–3 hour ascent of Jebel Umm Ad Dami, the highest mountain in Jordan, can be added to the itinerary.
