How to Get to Wadi Rum

Wadi Rum is located in southern Jordan, about 30 km from the Desert Highway connecting Aqaba and Amman. The desert is roughly one hour from Aqaba, two hours from Petra, and around four hours from Amman by car.

To reach Wadi Rum Village, follow the clearly signposted turnoff at Rashidiyah, located about 41 km north of Aqaba. Continue driving along the paved road toward the desert. On the way, you will pass the Wadi Rum Visitor Centre, where all visitors must pay the entrance fee to the protected area. The fee is 7 JD per adult, or free for travellers who hold the Jordan Pass.

After passing the gate, you will officially enter the Wadi Rum Protected Area. From there, continue driving for approximately 7 km until you reach Wadi Rum Village.

Our meeting point is the Wadi Rum Rest House, located in the centre of Wadi Rum Village. The Rest House has a pleasant picnic area as well as a large car park where guests can leave their vehicles overnight.

For guests who book tours with us, we can arrange taxi transfers to and from Wadi Rum. We work with licensed local drivers who provide clean and comfortable vehicles. We do not charge any commission for organising these transfers; the prices listed are provided directly by the drivers. Rates are per vehicle and each taxi can carry up to four passengers.
